About
Mercedes-Benz Turkey, a subsidiary of the prominent German luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz AG, sought to revamp their marketing strategies for a more eco-friendly and efficient operation. They reached out to us through a recommendation from Samsung, stemming from our established partnership and reputation for innovative solutions.
In the initial meeting with Mercedes-Benz Turkey in 2015, the company delineated its pain points in managing marketing campaigns, such as outdated communication materials, high production and distribution costs, and difficulties in tracking the usage of materials and ensuring their proper use. The lack of digitalization was a significant hindrance, leading to unorganized brochures and flyers and an ineffective transfer of campaigns to customers.
We offered an innovative mobile application solution for campaign management to address these challenges. This project was received with enthusiasm by Mercedes-Benz, mainly due to its transformative features:
The introduction of digital tablets and screens displaying marketing communication materials, eradicated the need for physical prints.
Interactive customer interfaces on these digital screens allowed direct access to campaign information and the option to send relevant details via email or SMS.
Customer representatives were facilitated by easily presenting relevant campaigns through these screens.
Content on these screens could be centrally managed using a Content Management System (CMS). The same content could be disseminated to all or specific dealer groups based on need.
Dealers were empowered to provide local content in addition to the main content.
Device usage and timings could be tracked, with reports on all content usage generated.
Integration of screen content with various forms, such as communication consent, satisfaction surveys, lead forms, Etc., was possible.
The solution was designed to operate even offline, ensuring uninterrupted broadcast flow despite internet connection issues.
IT security measures were incorporated to protect the devices while operating these screens.
Our responsibility in this project encompassed providing an all-inclusive solution to enhance the efficiency of Mercedes-Benz Turkey's marketing campaigns. Our digital solutions expertise was leveraged to overhaul their marketing operations into a more cost-effective and user-friendly process.
The success of our solution, as testified by the commendation from both Samsung and Mercedes-Benz, led to an ongoing collaboration that began with 300 tablets in the first year and continues with the same vigor even after eight years. The project was awarded the Best Practice Award from Mercedes-Benz Global in 2016.
My role in this project was multi-faceted. I tested all hardware alternatives, chose the most suitable ones, designed the database and application architecture, coded the mobile application and CMS, and managed the overall project and customer relationships. Additionally, I received field feedback and directed the team based on it.
