Metronot @Ulker
About
Ulker, a multinational food company based in Istanbul, Turkey, is part of the larger conglomerate Yildiz Holding. The company is renowned for its high-quality food products, including biscuits, chocolate, and confectionery. Ulker has a strong presence globally, with operations and partnerships across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
One of the notable projects associated with Ulker is "Metronot." This initiative aims to inspire young people to embrace a more active lifestyle. The project incorporates various mobile applications, events, and activities that engage young people across universities, shopping centers, and other crucial locations in Turkey. An integral part of the project is a bicycle-based competition where participants can race against each other, with prizes awarded to the winners. Ulker records all participants' personal information and messages and sends the winning message to space via a drone.
The Metronot project has received significant national attention thanks to widespread news coverage. Ulker advertised the project through TV commercials on various media channels. Major Turkish football clubs like Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, as well as prominent football players and celebrities, have participated in the project, contributing to its viral spread on social media. Yildiz Holding CEO Murat Ulker, who owns brands such as Godiva, McVities, and Ulker, also tested the project with his team and investors, providing tremendous support.
As for my role, I played a vital part in the development of Metronot. I designed the electronic sensor that connects bicycles, computers, tablets, and TVs and the mobile tablet application that allows participants to take selfies and share their experiences on social media. These achievements underscore my technical expertise, innovative thinking, and ability to implement large-scale projects successfully.
