Founded in 1837 by William Procter and James Gamble, The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) is a renowned American multinational consumer goods corporation headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. P&G specializes in an extensive array of personal health, consumer health, personal care, and hygiene products. These products are categorized into various segments, such as beauty, grooming, health care, fabric, home care, baby, feminine, and family care.

P&G commenced its operations in Romania in 1994, with the inaugural launches of Always and Pampers in 1995. Recognizing Romania as a strategic market within Europe, it serves as the headquarters for a cluster of 12 markets in Southeast Europe, catering to over 60 million consumers. Continuous investments in state-of-the-art facilities have transformed Romania into a key exporter and service provider for an extensive region within P&G. Since 2010, Romania has been home to one of P&G's most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly plants worldwide, located in Urlati.

In 2014, P&G Romania sought to enhance its distributors' businesses, boost the efficiency of sales representatives, and implement a more comprehensive reporting system. They approached Bianco Digital to develop a digital solution. Following a thorough analysis of their business processes, we introduced SalesPad, a tailored software solution crafted by the Bianco Digital team. SalesPad empowered the retail sales force by providing a comprehensive product presentation catalog, streamlined ordering, and customer management, robust reporting, and efficient data administration capabilities. The entire system was accessible via Android and iOS tablets.

P&G Romania integrated the solution on iPads, introducing it to their distributors as a potent tool to enhance their operations. The primary users included sales representatives interacting with customers, top-tier management seeking detailed reports, P&G staff overseeing catalog updates and access rights, and local administrators managing initial setups and subsequent modifications.

Utilizing the SalesPad infrastructure, we tailored the solution for P&G Romania and developed four distinct modules.

Module 1 encompassed approximately 20 products, each with a designated usage destination (e.g., Kitchen, Bathroom) and a targeted user type (hotel, restaurant, bar, etc.). Each product description included text, pictures, and an on-demand presentation video. Product selection options included browsing by category, destination, and user type.

Module 2 centered on ordering and customer management, allowing each distributor to install and customize the module independently to suit their specific needs. Customization variables included product assortment, selling prices, acquisition prices, discounts granted, and the number of end users (sales reps). Additionally, each sales rep had an assigned list of customers with details such as customer name, address, contact person, phone number, email address, and customer type. The ordering app was designed to register orders by SKU, calculate the total order value, and generate a list of all orders for the respective sales rep at the end of the day.

Module 3 was designed for reporting, making all data collected through the app available in a cloud-based database. Pre-defined reports were accessible with varying access rights. End users also had access to their reports, resembling local reports, but at an aggregated level.

Module 4 was dedicated to administration, serving both local and central management needs. Local administration facilitated the upload and maintenance of local data, including prices, discounts, product assortment, and customer lists. Central administration handled similar tasks but for central data, such as product catalog information. Additionally, a solution for pushing further updates and/or additional modules was identified.

The initiative proved immensely successful, providing P&G and its distributors with comprehensive oversight of sales points.
