Distant Sales Digital Processing (DSDP) @Telestar
About
Telestar is the largest Direct Response TV (DRTV) company in Europe, specializing in remote sales for decades.
Traditionally, direct-response TV companies aired on terrestrial, cable, and digital networks during off-peak periods. Expanding channels, especially those dedicated to specific demographics or lifestyles, opened new avenues for DRTV producers to reach targeted households, contributing to the growth of direct-response television programs.
Direct response television programs typically showcase products benefiting from detailed demonstrations or explanations conducive to impulse buying. Major product categories include cosmetics, fitness/exercise products, diet/nutrition products, kitchen tools and appliances, automotive accessories, cleaning products, self-improvement/education/motivation courses, music (CDs), and home videos/DVDs.
Post-2010, the DRTV sector underwent a significant transformation, with online sales becoming a pivotal factor for success and growth. DRTV operations require expertise and precise control in call centers, order management, customer services, inventory management, fulfillment, data analysis, and data security.
Upon meeting Telestar's founder, George Lazapoulos, I identified the company's fast growth but moderate online presence, prompting a need for a complete digital transformation. After focusing on operational phases and hurdles, I designed a new platform and digital transformation map. George, a visionary executive, recognized how this transformation could drive sustainable growth, revenue and profit increase, enhanced customer engagement, and data security assurance.
The result was the introduction of an innovative "Distant Sales Digital Processing Software" (DSDP), providing comprehensive solutions for remote sales companies, covering online sales, call management, warehouse management, fulfillment, data mining & reporting, and data security – an all-encompassing solution. Leading a team of six software engineers, we developed, implemented, and maintained a digital platform, enabling Telestar to enhance operations and replicate the system across multiple countries within a few years.
